Isn't it funny that you can see a little Google+ logo in the top left corner while he is telling us to avoid Google, Facebook etc. :p

Speed-Racer3476d ago

Because he is in a Google Hangout.

Devil-X3476d ago

Yeah I see telling us to avoid it but not quite avoiding it himself.

Speed-Racer3476d ago

Maybe he didn't have a choice given the interview situation/

extravalue3475d ago

he is on the topic of privacy
im sure that wasnt a private conversation you idiot

sorry for the names but i hate when people try to be smart asses

Devil-X3475d ago

I never said it was a private conversation, may be you assumed it. I was just trying to bring some irony out of the context of this story. btw, thanks for pointing my mistakes out. :)

Blasphemy3474d ago

No surprise here because Google and Facebook were created by the CIA.

I have mad respect for this guy.

exposing things that the government is doing to slowly take away certain freedoms without the everyday joe actually realizing it until its too late all in the name of national security.

people need to stop being so willing to give up freedoms for a false sense of security.

Life lessons never believe anyone those so called heroes that are being pushed on us.
Lol I doubt that they never knew about him otherwise they would have sent him to the other side of the galaxy.
Its far bigger than what he says and in someway he is misleading people I will leave the rest for people who are welling to think out of the box and gain some iq points.

360ICE3475d ago

Not sure if you realise this, but no one cares that much about privacy.

holdmyown833475d ago

AGREED!! Only old white lady's

Kurylo3d3472d ago

Your an idiot for thinking that. So if you dont care... that means no one should have it.. lol..

"So if you dont care... that means no one should have it.. lol.."

Eh. When did I even imply that? I just said that no one cares enough about privacy to do what Snowden says, namely drop Google, Facebook and Dropbox. I'm not denying anyone the opportunity to delete their accounts.

I mean, I'm sure that strictly speaking SOMEONE out there cares that much, but seeing how Google and Facebook continues to be the top two websites, and Dropbox one of the most popular cloud storage services, I think it's fairly evident that the vast majority of people don't care THAT much.

Kurylo3d3471d ago

I care enough. You said no one does. And I'm sure people care, they just think theres no getting around it. Lets face facts. The US is going to keep listenining in on our phone calls regaurdless of any laws to stop it. It will be abused. Governments dont follow their own laws.. they rewrite them or hide things.

fingazblank3475d ago

360ICE, this is what kingpin is saying, when its to late, you'll say how did that happen..to late joe

360ICE3475d ago (Edited 3475d ago )

I think we need a more nuanced assessment of what kind of data companies and governments should be allowed to gather. This isn't an easy issue and it's not going to be solved by clinging to a rigid principle.

Google's new chat app should be deleted and never used, says Edward Snowden

Edward Snowden has warned people not to use Google’s new chat app, because it lets the company read everything that they say. Google has finally released its new chat app after showing it off over the summer. It comes with a robot that watches everything people say and then stores it for later analysis, using that data to improve the app itself.
