Why Microsoft needs to reveal Windows 9 sooner than later: The end of Windows 7

Several reports from usually reliable Windows watchers say Microsoft is poised to unveil Windows 9 at the end of September. The new OS will mark the return of the Start menu, the ability to run Metro apps inside desktop windows, and other PC-friendly tweaks. The timing makes ton of sense, in spite of Windows 8's short run. Why? Because Windows 7.

Microsoft will likely continue with their 'every other OS' record with flops and hits, Windows 9 will take the best from Windows 8 but with the features Windows 7 users want like a more traditional Start menu. I use Windows 8.1 for work but prefer Windows 7 for my home PC whose primary role is gaming.

Windows? hah...i stopped using windows since XP. havent looked back. Linux has come a long long long way since i last used it. Linux mint is possibly the most complete linux OS for everyday use(movies, music, browsing internet, office work).

but i can understand why people need a better windows OS. Windows 8 is an epic fail. tablet OS running with mouse and keyboard and no touch screen. which retarded monkey at Microsoft came up with that idea and was cleverer than the other monkeys there to actually convince everyone its a spectacular idea.

besides the win8 initial crappy interface, I found that some of my old programs that were fine with win7 just would not work with win8.

Why MicroSlime finds a need to screw us mere consumers is beyond me. I look forward to working with Linus and Android...

Windows 8.1 is better than Windows 7 in almost every way that a power user should care about. Stability, speed, security, compatibility.

Casual Windows users who aren't experienced with computers seem to have the most trouble with Windows 8 because they get "stuck" in the new interface and can't figure out how to get out or can't figure out how to make their traditional desktop applications they're familiar with take priority over the weird "tablet style apps" that Microsoft made default for all users.

LOL! Nice try but I'm sick of the "you must be stupid" argument! See I think the same of you! How can you defend W8? If you ask me you took the bait ... hook, lie & sinker! So did you buy a WP8 and a Surface!!! LOL! And a Xbox One!!! LOL!
