Well I hope they have some concept of mercy and allow the rest of us to live in a Kardashian free world.

Stringerbell3119d ago

He's been saying this for a while and I believe him. When the Europeans landed in the Americas it wasn't to sing sing songs and share their technology with the native Americans.

I'd like to believe there is some benevolent Alien species that visits us and shares the wonders of the galaxy with us, seems more like a pipe dream though...

It's silly though to assume because we have been inherently evil and done stupid violent things when we were small minded and thought ourselves to be the center of existence, fighting over imaginary lines on a chunk of rock that is unimaginably smaller than an atom to the scale of the universe, that life elsewhere would have done the same.

Thing is we're still at it... and that's really sad. If Aliens did show up, they probably would dispose of us, not out of a malevolent way but more out of a "shit, we can't let these guys spread, look what they've done to their planet and look how the treat the other living organisms on their planet."

Or there is some military cultured race out there that somehow managed to stop blowing themselves up long enough to band together and spread out to the stars and we're all officially fooked if they come our way.

I find the former more likely than the latter though.

I could talk about this stuff all night, I love it. Though I do find it really depressing to be on this planet sometimes, knowing how insignificant we all are and then seeing people fighting over nothing time and time again. If everyone could wake up and see the big picture every day, realise the scale of it all and how tiny we really are, that maybe people would start realising how lucky we are that some random event hasn't already just wiped our planet out of existence, and start being a little nicer to each other for the short time we're here.

Then I remember I get stupid excited about video games and what not and get in to debates over stuff and realise, damn, I'm just a stupid Human too hahaha.

Man this guy is soo negative.. I wonder if it's b/c he has his disease...

"warns Stephen Hawking"

Stop being pretentious!

justlikeme3119d ago

I don't get it. If an advanced civilization were to visit earth - notice how I didn't say "invade"?? I highly doubt their motive would be to "destroy and conquer".... I believe it wold be for research and curiosity. This universe is too big to just have x amount of planets to 'invade".

christian hour3119d ago

I don't think a malevolent species hell bent on conquering would ever make it off their own planet and spread across the stars before blowing eachother up. We're a prime example of that :)

Or, you know, make fewer copies of ourselves, use resources more efficiently, pollute less and scrub away the filth we spew. That'd be, like, 20 orders of magnitude easier than moving to another planet.
