Or you know...now this is REALLY thinking outside of the box...you could add countdown timers next to the traffic lights.

This.... I tell ya I thought about this when I was a little kid. Good luck with this system at the no-goood ponzy scheming red light camera areas. Fckn ridiculous how 1 light changes from yellow to red in .5 seconds and another does it in .2.

I mean WiTF! Thats faster than a google search! Fkn a-holes just want money!

@ Slate.. So people can speed up way past the speed limit to try and beat a light?

Newmanator3182d ago

Don't you think people speed up anyway not knowing when it will change?

arkard3182d ago

Not as much as if they knew they had 5 seconds vs might change in 1

digitfreakbot3182d ago

haha, yeah. Definitely they do.

Trunkz3182d ago

@arkard

You know when you see a green light and you see the crosswalk still lit up so you know you don't have to worry about a red light appearing? Think of this only all the time not having to worry of the surprise, people will fly through the yellows both ways but at least they can better judge with the numbers rather than the surprise change.

A better system would be after 9 or 10 pm, if 1 side hasn't had a car pass through in 10 seconds and the other has cars waiting, the lights will change. Always annoying when it's late at night, you're sitting at the light and a single car hasn't passed by.

subtenko3182d ago

Brah, I sat at somefkn light for like 2-3min...no cars coming... I was thinking wtf....if I go what if some cop is trolling. Stupid dumb system. Need a reset button to do a mass re-assinging on who decides what.

"I'm terrible with technology"

The Verge - True story: back when I worked for Engadget it was always my dream to cover a Steve Jobs keynote. I knew how to liveblog, I knew how to do photos for a liveblog. I was capable. But I'm also a walking embodiment of Murphy's Law. Everything that can go wrong with technology, will go wrong in my hands. What if I can't connect to the internet? What if my camera's not working? What if I forget a cable, or an SD card reader? I was too obviously cursed with unreliability to earn a spot at a Stevenote. When Apple unveiled the iPhone, arguably the most important Apple keynote of all time, I was covering a Dell press conference in Las Vegas.
