companies screwing over consumers is nothing new but to be so blatant about it is another thing.
All I rely on is the 30 day warranty from the retailer. Some places will bend over backwards to keep from sending you a lemon because it would tarnish their name. Newegg in particular does a great job standing behind their stuff.
Beyond 30 days it's a crapshoot. I've read up on places that offer extended warranties and all I read are horror stories. Every time I see an offer from Squaretrade I cringe. I'd rather replace a device I broke than go through warranty limbo with one of these people.
