It's a bit of a better of two evils situation, sometimes the updates will run garbage on old hardware or drain battery massively. I know lot of people who updated their old iDevices with new iOS versions and instantly regretted the decision.

I'd be happy if manufacturers just release a press release saying why they are not realising the update, rather than cause such anticipation by promising the update #1.1.1

if the capacity part of the rumor is true it is a huge disappointment - 32GB models have been available for ages, why can't they bump this up to 64GB? #1
