I agree. For months I have been holding off upgrading my Moto G because the process was long(slow internet). The phone kept reminding me but I just ignored it until it stopped reminding me. Then a couple of months later it started reminding me again but now it stays around in the background constantly and for some reason it drains the battery like a vampire. After several weeks I got tired with a phone that only last for less than half day on a full charge, I was forced to upgrade.

They are autonomous when they cruise around or on their way to the target area. It will always be humans-the military commanders and drone operators-who take over when targets appear and orders to kill are given.

It will still be a human being that pushed the missile launch button.

Besides, the article is about drones in civilian settings. Asimov's Law is still not a viable rule since most of these drones are just taking videos or package deliveries. Asim...

These are remotely-controlled vehicles, not autonomous robots, so citing Asimov's Laws of robotics is just being overly dramatic. All they need to do is just update the transportation and aviation laws for these drone pilots.

"The icon, which displays user’s friend requests when clicked on, has been altered so that the female figure now appears in front of the male figure."

It's the same icon from before except now we're seeing it from behind the figures. This would mean the female figure is still behind the male figure only they're looking away from us.

I have been using a motocycle to work for the past one year and wished for relevant information to appear on my helmet's visor. It's quite distracting having to glance down to look at the speedometer while having such information at the corner of your eyes is faster. There's no need to fill the whole field of view with unnecessary icons(like the randomized patterns in the tests).

I remember in the final scene in the movie Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol where t...

A weapon that is constantly radiating a detectable radio wave sounds like a good idea.

The US is busy building laser weapons while the Russians are busy with micro wave weapons and drone tanks. Sounds like the years leading up to the events in C&C: Red Alert game.

There are many groups of people in any particular field of interest.
Do people actually invest time into playing games or just constantly making fan art?
Do people actually invest time into playing games or just constantly making mods?
Do people actually invest time into playing games or just constantly making blogs and reviews?

Some people want to play game with beautiful graphic and able to buy these cards but they don't have time to benchmark....

Amazing. Great to see practical effects are returning to Star Wars.

How long before we see the weaponized drone version of BB-8 in real world military? It reminded of the roller mines from Half Life 2.

This is confusing.

This research said fasting will kickstart your body's white blood cell to do their job.

On the other hand I read from another research your body will also perceive fasting as a sign that your body is in danger of starvation and then permanently increased your appetite level.

You'll get a new immune system while fasting but your body have been automatically set to eat even more food once you're out of fasting.

There will always that one scientist that it'll be cool to make a sentient AI. And then they realized they don't need us pesky organics running the show.

Let's hope other media outlets won't misinterpret this and try connect it with gamers who play violent video games are violent people too.

Reading the article I don't see gaming ever mentioned at all connected to the card. I do see computing, supercomputers, IBM and servers. There are even pictures showing server stations.

Games? I can't find any mention.

As for the Japanese declaring the PS4 as a supercomputer...lol. Sony called the PS3 a supercomputer and then retracted the claim. Hell, I do remember reading an article about the FBI investigating the Pentium 4, thinking it might be too...

I've been wondering about that: will AMD eventually release a GDDR5-only PC system to beat Nvidia and Intel or does Sony has total control over the system since they are the one who ordered it thus preventing AMD from releasing such a PC(in the near future at least)?

It seems pointless now since there isn't that much that require it but it has to start somewhere. PC hardware makers has to use the snowball effect since they don't have Apple's billions of dollars to promote a new device to entice millions of buyer upon launch.

The only difference now the snowball will be a bit slower to pick up speed and size with the onslaught of mobile devices. Intel can throw in a lot of support but it seem a bit too preoccupied chasing the m...

Just last week I popped in a movie to a car LCD TV to keep me occupied for the long trip. I could see my dad, who was driving, glancing back and forth from his driving and at the LCD screen whenever an action scene appear. It was Dragon Ball so I knew he wouldn't be interested in it much.

Then after movie is finished he asked me to put in the movie which was an action movie. Since action movies are his thing I immediately said no and turn on the radio for him.

@Campy - complicated instals? With Steam? It only asked you where you want to instal the game and then push next. That's complicated? As for drivers, there is a new one for my card available and it's constantly flashing to get me to instal it but I'm not forced to. My games still run nicely even without the new driver.

I know the trouble of carrying the PC back and forth but I gave up since everybody else in my family also use the TV and I feel like a douche hoggi...

DX is pretty much a PC thing from the start so it is up to AMD's interest (being stuck with both next gen consoles) to keep it from moving forward and giving it's competitors an edge. MS is not looking keen in evolving the DX since that will only make make a mess of it's unified Windows 8 platform while AMD would certainly benefit a lot more from that since it's closest competitors won't have much to go on.

Current gen consoles took up a lot of PC features...

Watch the pilot episode for the reimagined Battlestar Galactica series or the part in Star Wars Episode 1 where Palpatine executed Order 66.

It's not merely the online vulnerabilities that everyone should be afraid off. It's what the secret codes in those hardware might do in other situations that might be a bigger danger than intelligence gathering.

It would be catastrophic should the US and China went to war and all of sudden all US weapon system (...
