Spindler and Amelio were the only times Apple righteously kicked a CEO to the curb or demoted them (not via Steve, but ushered Steve's return [whom never was "fired" himself]). He'd fire Cook? Yeah right and Willy Wonka candy will never be the same without Willy. Steve is STILL heavily involved with Apple. He's just not CEO anymore and besides the folks that matter most (R&D, Prod design etc.) have not gone anywhere.
