This is an issue that I felt needs to be addressed, as it's always been a rule that hasn't gotten much attention. Given that anyone can make up a rumor, our goal is to filter out the fluff from the more legitimate stories. Rumor stories are obviously interesting, and while we accept them, it is extremely important that at least one of the following two criteria be met.
Stories that qualify as rumors should meet at least one of these guidelines
- Should be posted by a site with some kind of authority (e.g. a popular site such as the BBC, The Verge, 9to5mac, Android Authority, among others).
- Should include photographic or video evidence to back the claim
As many sites here are smaller websites, it is important that claims be backed up by some form of physical evidence.
If your story does not meet these criteria and simply goes "according to rumors..." then it will be failed without question.
It may seem harsh, but we have to prevent any and everyone from submitting content that may not be true.
