Self Driving Tag Update

A very quick note regarding some tag changes. For those relatively new I've been trying where I can to get our use of tagging more concise. As you have probably come across through your submissions, there are several tags which are several iterations of the same thing and some which flat out make no sense. A jumble of letters submitted by someone who has suddenly lost all control of their hands when using a keyboard.

The most notable of the former is those relating to Self Driving Cars. There are many forms of vehicle that crop up and they keep getting their own tags. There are multiple terms for self driving as well just to make things even more complicated. So in order to keep things organised, and because the amount of stories regarding them are only going to increase I've spent the better part of my morning going through all the tags.

Tags terms are now unified under what was the Self Driving Cars tag, so if you have a story about a self driving or autonomous trucks, vans, busses, anything you should now use 'Autonomous Vehicles' (which future-proofs that tag a bit). All others, I hope, are now marked DO NOT USE. It may take a little while for the system to update everything and start showing you that suggestion for every iteration of tag. You know as well as us how it has been with 'new' tags in recent months. But if you look up and select "self driving cars" for any story relating to that you will see upon selection in now defaults to the new term. So just do that if it doesn't appear. I've hopefully made it so some of the defunct tags won't even show up.

Any stories currently in pending obviously have a pass on their use, but after this point as with all 'D.N.U' tags if you use them after this you'll eat a 24 hour submissions ban. Mainly because of how silly you have to be to actively choose a tag that specifically tells you not to use it. There are some other tag changes too, but Self Driving is the main one you should know about.
