Google+ and the Future

I have spent a bit of time on Google+ and have come to the conclusion that it will be a big thing, it is a mix of twitter and Facebook, with a bit of Skype thrown in. Then I asked myself, "What more will come to this service and what things do I feel I just won't be able to live without now?" And as I normally do, I began to think. And I came up with a small list of things I found very interesting, as well as ideas that may very well be implemented in the future.

1. Hang Out/Business Use
As weird as a social networking site being used for business is, it has been done, but not to the potential for it that I see in G+. The Hang Out feature offers Skype like abilities in any one of your circles (groups of people that you choose to send messages to). This is a very handy feature for it offers video and voice chat, as well as sharing of YouTube videos and text chat. Of course, it is still in beta, and I can see much more being added to Hang Out.

2. The Notification Area - A Powerful Tool
Now, many of you are probably thinking "WTF? A notification area??" But yes, This is no Facebook notification area, This allows you to respond to comments without leaving the page you are on, Post things to your stream (equivalent to your wall, but for circles) and access to the top bar we are all familiar with in Google services. This notification area is being used on all Google services, allowing seamless travel between Gmail, G+, Google search, and other Google apps. This is an incredibly convenient tool. And possibly, in the future, allowing customization of where everything is.

3. Circles - Privacy Redefined
As Ive mentioned before, circles are groups of people you send messages to, but i never mentioned how it plays a vital role in the privacy on G+. Circles are hidden groups of people only you can see. With circles, you are able to select groups of people to send messages to, so you don't spam the hell out of everyone else with messages. Now, how does this relate to privacy, you ask? Lets say you have a bit of a grudge against your boss, and you want to rant about him to your friends or make some fun of him, but he is on your G+. You have him in your Work circle, but not your friends circle. So you post everything that's on your mind to your friend circle. Your boss can't see it. I find this a very valuable upgrade from twitter and Facebook.

This leaves me with a question for the readers, what features do you like? Any ideas you can see coming to G+ in the future?
