BioWare Creative Director affirms that Anthem gameplay still reflective of original showing

BioWare Creative Director Brenon Holmes replied to a question on Reddit regarding if the gameplay shown during the Anthem reveal was still what players will expect to see at release. The answer is yes.

Godmars2902189d ago

So if it doesn't then how bad is it for Bioware?

thekhurg2188d ago

"Representative of final gameplay" - so it doesn't look like that until we see real, legit gameplay. I said it was fake gameplay right after the reveal and people go all butthurt over the comment. Now Bioware confirms it was fake.

yomfweeee2188d ago

Huh... they said the opposite...

Palitera2188d ago

^ TBH... They are with EA. They're obviously deceiving the players.

thekhurg2188d ago

Just because something is running "in real time" on a console doesn't mean it's real gameplay. The famous Killzone PS3 video was running in real time on a PS3. It was just pre-rendered gameplay that was meant to represent the final version of the game.

This is no different.

Rude-ro2188d ago

I do not think it looked fake.
It was still very corridor driven and each engagement looked rather small and locked into its own area.
There are still too many unknowns.
Like the big beast they came across... how dynamic is it. For intstance, if a player engaged the beast but then decided to run off, would it chase you to the next encounter etc, lock the area down and make the players finish the fight, or would it stop the fight after leaving the area?
Those are all questions that need to be answered in order to see how the graphics would be effected.
But the demo seemed legit per their small pathway and small simple encounters.

So people should believe you over someone who actually worked on the game, so what experience do you have for this game

Well I have a feeling this game is do or die for Bioware, so the possible visual fidelity is minor in the grand scheme of things. ME:A was a disaster and EA is trigger happy when it comes to closing studios that do not meet their expectations. It is a shame because EA thenselves are mostly to blame.

AngelicIceDiamond2188d ago (Edited 2188d ago )

EA's misfortunes are all self inflicted. They're doing this to themselves. They even lashed out at garners by saying they'll keep the MTX and Loot boxes going. Like at the end of a cheesy film "I'll be back for my revenge, just you wait!"

Anthems's premise, Gameplay, concept, graphics everything in game looks great no doubt about it. It sucks when the thing you fear is the buissness side of a game, like games are WAY more complicated today then they ever have in any gaming generation.

UnHoly_One2188d ago

Mass Effect Andromeda was a really good game. I don't care what anyone says about it, it was great.

princejb1342188d ago

well Bioware is owned by EA so my expectations are low, like down to the dirt low. EA has lied many times in the past.

Palitera2188d ago

Judging by the downvotes, sigh, some people will fall on EAs tricks oooonce again.

princejb1342188d ago

@palitera

honestly i dont care about the votes. I just voice my opinion. If people want to get scam over and over again by EA, so be it.

PrinceVegeta2187d ago

Why the negativity? Its an upcoming new IP from a great developer that has been shown only once. It will not have the same graphical fidelity, but the game play is being talked about here and it could have similar game play. There's nothing impossible or difficult about the game play from the E3 trailer.

And yet the release date was pushed back.

Codedan2188d ago

Pushed back to improve the game obviously. These games take an insane amount of resources.

bloop2188d ago (Edited 2188d ago )

Pushed back to restructure the whole game's economy and progression system after the SW:BFII fiasco, more like.

TheCommentator2188d ago

Yes, but how bad will it still be when it launches? I want a good, if not great, Bioware game and not what I've been playing since the middle of last generation.

TheRealHeisenberg2188d ago

Better to push it back and get it right than rush out a crap game.

Sciurus_vulgaris2188d ago

I think Athem will only look as good as its revel “gameplay” on “Super Saiyan Blue” level PC

I_am_Batman2188d ago

If I had to bet I'd bet against it looking like the reveal trailer even on high end PC specs but there is no chance in hell that it'll look like that on consoles.

madforaday2188d ago

You can say that for every multi-platform game that is out on PC.

How long until they get sued and it gets taken down? I say a month or 2

PRIMORDUS23h ago

Sued for what? It's just an emulator no ROMs are with it. ROMs are easy to get anyway, but with iPhone you can't just copy and paste like Android unless it's jail broken I think. Anyway Nintendo should be more concerned with their ROMs up to torrent for years for all of their concoles, but then again they can't do nothing about it, they never will and I love it. 🤣

NotoriousWhiz21h ago

As long as it isn't emulating the Switch, it'll be fine.

RonnySins21h ago

Naaah! Don't want to waste time emulating on iPhone.

Knightofelemia20h ago

Won't belong before Nintendo bangs on Apple's door to have the emu removed. Like I say you take down one six more take it's place. Problem is people are putting emu's on such stupid platforms. The good emus are the ones not on stupid platforms like a red target. The good emu's are word of mouth and keep a low profile.
