I don't give a crap about a console war but all 3 bigs have placed them self nicely for E3. All they have to do is deliver a solid showing. Can't wait.

Dont care about X1 ever catching PS4's lifetime sales. When I sit down for a gaming session, the last thing I'm thinking about is sales...its the experience that the game is providing me, the experience the platform is providing me, the experience the community is providing me. What I would like for Microsoft to do is to get back to the gamer...i look at Game Pass, digital returns and others as them doing that. I want to see more. At E3 I just want to see the games and a superior platform that will give me that gaming experience im looking for.

The console war is over. Sorry to say, but if Sony never sold another PS4 after today, Xbox would still never even catch up, much less outsell. Maybe next gen they'll have better luck, though by the looks of it, they've given up on the "gen approach".

These are the things that come to my mind that could "even out the Console War" for Microsoft:

1) Phil Spencer proclaims himself as a "true" Messiah and Xbox Scorpio is essential to save the world.
2) GTA 6 is an Xbox exclusive.
3) Half Life 3 is announced, and it's an Xbox exclusive.
4) Call of Duty is also an Xbox Exclusive.
5) So is Fifa.
6) Huge new IPs are shown, some of them even bigger than Halo.

In other words, there is no way for Microsoft to catch up this gen.

New ip is what microsoft need but they seem incapable of understanding that. They need to build a new and better image for the xbox brand. Most people just see it as a shitty version of the playstation that plays halo.

A good article with some good points I can agree with. Especially the stuff like Microsoft picking up studios like IO and building up their 1st party with more quality content.

Nothing can even out what has been done. PlayStation could literally stop selling systems right now and Xbox would still not be able to catch up by the end of this gen... they are just too far behind... not to mention the amount of insane EXCLUSIVE games comming to playstation.. Scorpio looks sick but it's too late.. they should have just waited till 2019 ish and started a new gen. I understand all of the hardcore Xbox guys are pumped because they have been getting lower res games for the past 4 years but the visual difference between 2k and 4K isn't very noticeable... the Scorpio is not going to change much..

True 4K gaming , most powerful console on the market . I can't wait . Take my money MS . Give me a forza in 4K and best versions of third party games that I play mostly and you got yourself a guaranteed buyer. Backwards compatible to play my older games as well. I couldn't be happier.

They not gonna even anything, no matter what they do. This gen is already set in stone. Xbox does not have enough of a presence outside NA and the UK to ever garner even close to enough attention to be competitive with PlayStation. With PS4 being ahead even in the US, Xbone's best hope is to be even in the US, but that will change very little in the grand scheme.

Nothing that will happen or you predict to happen at E3 or any other show will even the console war, but I can appreciate you making the effort.

Why does MS have to even anything ? Why can't they just bring out a console for those who want an upgrade I. Graphics ? MS doesn't have to even anything , they are going in the right direction by giving gamers OPTIONS. It's no different then Sony with the Pro. MS just beefed up their premium console a lot better . I have a 4K hdr oled and the Pro won't cut it but Scorpio is looking promising.

Most of these aren't predictions, they're pipe dreams. Some of them are possible, but most are unlikely.

I WISH MS would make Xbox a worthy contender of the PS4. Especially since I finally picked up an Xbone. However, this generation is pretty much a done deal.

I'm glad they're not giving up though. They still release good games here and there, and without them we'd have a repeat of Sony at the PS3 launch, and/or MS with the Xbone announcement.

In other words, competition breeds excellence, and we need all 3 players in the game.

Yeah I truly believe ms can steal the show. Sony Have shown all there hands and the thing is you keep showing hands early on, it can eventually come back to bite you. I certainly am looking forward to see ms's E3 most of all and seeing what they're going to be putting on my plate.

The world wide gap is too big to overcome. Xbox will gain some ground in the US and finish the generation in a good place. PS4 Pro, Scorpio and Switch are like a do-over for the entire generation.
