everyone i know is using whatsapp or kik messenger mostly coz it supports every type of smartphone in the market.

What's the point, at this point? The iPhone has imessage, Android has their own version coming probably *tomorrow* and almost the whole Blackberry community has moved on already. Only people using BBM will be those telling their friends to get rid of their Blackberry.

So have they finally admitted defeat?

Blackberry are absolute tools with little business sense at all, BBM is huge in Europe, lots of people still use blackberry devices and love BBM, what will be the point of owning a Blackberry when you have just made your biggest piece of software available on your rivals devices, makes no sense unless its gonna be packed with ads, but still makes little sense, it seems there trying there hardest to run themselves into the ground.
