Don't see either taking over the TV industry. As the industry already saturated.

patent rectangles with rounded corners:

@Kingpin, you seem fixated on the [sic] 'rectangles with rounded corners'. Nothing against the law to patent distict rounded edges - corners at a certain angle or the same rectangle ratio. Seems everyone still likes pulling pieces out of a text to give them gravitas. When they were simply elements of a court case.

sue samsung for all their menus look/feel:

Samsung have been making menu's for years prior the mobile wars. All which were bland, simple or unique to Asian appeal. Only recently with the influence from the west did they over haul their design sense and to follow a design trend created by another.

try to ban samsungs tvs:

Don't blame companies like Apple suing companies like samsung as they saturate the market with the same products day in and day out. Till everyone gets tired of the same thing.

If you double check you will find Samsung has been making smart TVs for a good while now, they have yet to go global with them.

Would be interesting if Apple quit mobile and went back to Computing only:

Would you place all your money on the though that samsung soon to be sold out by Google would produce inspiring design trends for years to come?

OR

Would they simply saturate their existing design trends by making minor amendments?
