Slate: It was astonishingly easy to quit Googling. In Chrome, Google's Web browser, I clicked a couple buttons in the Settings tab, and voilà, my default search engine was Bing.

It's interesting that you give Google so much praise, yet they have much more information about us than Facebook or Bing combined together. Think about how many services we use that belong to Google... Gmail, Search, Docs, Analytics, Reader, etc. All those programs are silently building a profile about us as well. The only reason I prefer Google over Bing right now is because it gets the job done much more efficiently.
And as for the comment contest, a lot of people do post for the genuine interest of tech. I should add as well that you could be DQed if your comments are really short (just for the sake of winning).
Also, I've noticed that you never post more than one line. I guess you must really want to win the comment lottery.
