Microsoft to Sell Some AOL Patents to Facebook for $550m

Gadgehit.com writes: "Microsoft has agreed to sell around 650 patents to social networking website, Facebook, to the tune of $550 million. The patents in question come from a patent portfolio that Microsoft purchased from AOL earlier this month. The patent portfolio, which contained around 925 patents, was bought by Microsoft for $1.06 billion. The deal also meant that Microsoft would be able to license the 300 remaining patents that AOL holds." (Facebook, Industry, Microsoft, Web)
