Dual is enough in phones tbh.

Unless if they want to make a remake of the movie Independence Day and show a multicore smartphone/tablet sending a virus into the alien motherships' mainframe...

This coming from a company that ignored the surge of popularity for smartphone's, clung to Symbian when their competitors moved to Android and lost their market dominance in such a short time only to then desperately tether themselves to a desperate software producer wanting to kickstart yet another stab at the mobile OS market after failing numerous times to really get a foothold, yeah lets listen to Nokia <shrug>

I agree with Nokia as smart phones don't need more than 1 core if the software is done right. I have the HTC Titan and my boss as work has just got the HTC one x and my phone dose everything quicker than his quad core phone. From boot up to opening the camera switching apps ect. This not nothing to do with power as my Titan has a single core processor but WP7 was designed to work on single core and be very stable and fast.

Android needs the bigger processors ect but cause of the way it has been programed just like the old Windows Mobile was.

WP7 specs for mango are set at a 1GHZ processor and 512mb of ram with 8gb of storage and when the Apollo update is out in the next few moths wp will only need a 700mhn processor 256mb of ram and 2GB storage to run and it will be as smooth as the os is now.

android running of both these specs causes the OS to have problems.

Even dualcore is "overkill".

Even though Nokia isn't the powerhouse it used to be, they still know how to make a solid phone.
My N8 isn't perfect, but when it comes to battery life and solid design(i've dropped, kicked and thrown it so many times).
I look forward to upgrading to the Nokia W7 phone, a better OS with a solid phone. =D
