It’s alive! AT&T’s networks become self-aware

Gigaom - AT&T is using Intucell’s self-optimizing network (SON) technology to turn its mobile broadband networks from what are now static collections of cells into the networking equivalent of an organism. Rather than meekly pass subscribers back and forth, AT&T’s 4G cells will become aware of the network as a whole, expanding and contracting to meet the capacity needs of its subscribers as they move throughout.

The story is too old to be commented.
