TechCrunch - Forget that specs do not matter for a minute. The first bit of competitive benchmarks of the Nvidia Tegra 3 are just now hitting thanks to the Asus Transformer Prime. Nvidia’s quad-core mobile platform will likely be the de facto chipset to power Ice Cream Sandwich tablets; it will be everywhere next year. Nvidia has long touted the Tegra 3′s processing power, stating that the platform will absolutely trounce all competitors including the aging dual-core Apple A5. That doesn’t seem to be the case though. Early benchmarks are stating the A5 keeps up just fine.
Maximum PC: "Having its Tegra 3 SoC chosen for two platform-defining tablets, the Google Nexus 7 and the Microsoft Surface RT, has got to be one of the highlights of NVIDIA's year. However, the company is not content merely with design wins. This is evident from its TegraZone initiative, a one-stop shop for Tegra-optimized games and outright exclusives. Till now restricted to Android, the TegraZone app is now available for the two-month-old Windows RT."
Pocket-Lint: When Apple announced the new iPad, CEO Tim Cook was quoted as saying the iPad’s GPU was four times faster than Nvidia’s Tegra 3. This is Apple taking on the competition head on. Nvidia has a serious graphics heritage and its Tegra 3 SoC is hugely powerful.
While the iPad’s 5X chip has only a dual-core processor to the Tegra 3’s quad, the 5X has a quad-core GPU. Nvidia’s offering uses a GeForce GPU. In theory, Apple’s multi-core graphics processor should work wonders - but just how wonderful can these wonders be? Three times more wonderful than Tegra 3? This is an important question, as both represent the flagship powerhouses' of currently available tablets.
the vita has the same GPU except the fact it is customised fot the Vita. And it has a quad cord CPU.
Netbook News - Sony was late to the tablet game releasing the two Nvidia Tegra 2 devices, the Sony Tablet S and dual screen Tablet P a few months ago. With the release of Tegra 3 the two tablets are already out of date and it’s not surprising that Sony would be working on their next generation tablet.
