Gingerbread now the dominant Android platform

Pocket-Lint: Froyo has been toppled from its lofty perch as the the dominant Android version, being replaced by Gingerbread.

The 2.3 variations equate for over 50 per cent of the Android market share, across all mobile devices, and the figures suggest that the fandroid community is quick to upgrade to the latest iterations of the versions their devices are capable of, with almost all Gingerbread users being on revision 2.3.3 onwards.
