AMD has pulled the curtains on its FX series of processors which includes the first unlocked 8 core processors. Last month they earned a Guiness World Record for the highest clocked speed reecorded with its 8 core CPU which was then codenamed Bulldozer.
In September AMD will be re-released three “New” FX processors, including two models of 95W TDP, while also lowering the price of some FX processors, such as FX-9590, the price will be reduced from US$299.99, a decline of over 20%. Where as the FX-6300 will be priced from $135 to about $119.
HardwarePal : When the Roadmap of AMD’s production line was showcased there was no mention of AMD’s FX CPUs , news was that there won’t be another FX CPU and the series will be discontinued but all of it was fake according to AMD.
HardOCP: The goal of this evaluation today is to expand upon gaming performance with the AMD FX-8150 CPU using multiple-GPUs and higher resolutions. In our initial evaluation, we used a single Radeon HD 6970 GPU. This time, we are going to be using NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 580, but we are using more than just one. We will be using two for standard SLI, and we are also including three in a Tri-SLI configuration. On top of that, we are going to be testing in a triple-display NV Surround setup that lets us test up to a resolution of 5760x1200, well beyond the 1080p we tested before.
You think these could be more powerful than the i7s under Sandy bridge?
This is really old news. Sandy Bridges are still better and cheaper for gaming.
Nice CPU for gaming, but still expensive cause even the six core i7 can beat this CPU in performance, AMD should cut the price of this to be able to compete with intel..
