Hot Hardware: With a price tag that's just a penny shy of $300, the Droid Bionic is definitely at the top end of Verizon Wireless' current lineup. Considering the similarly-equipped Droid RAZR will be available next month for the same price, we feel as if Verizon Wireless and Motorola are stealing some of their own thunder with the recent announcement of the thinner Droid RAZR. For this reason, we wouldn't be too surprised if the price for the Droid Bionic drops somewhat, relatively soon. Assuming Motorola and Verizon Wireless do something to keep the Droid Bionic competitive with other offerings, we feel the Droid Bionic is indeed a phone worthy of consideration for users who want a zippy Android experience with 4G connectivity.
Android Police's David Ruddock writes, "Verizon has just announced the Jelly Bean update for the Motorola DROID Bionic, bringing Android 4.1.2 to a handset many thought would never make it past Gingerbread. Motorola has been on an update spree the last few months, and the decision to bump the Bionic to Android 4.1 was made official by Motorola back in October 2012. The version number for the Jelly Bean update is 98.72.22, and it will begin rolling out in phases on April 15th."
Engadget - Now that we know how the iPhone 4S stacks up against the iPhone 4, let's take a look at how Apple's latest smartphone compares to its mightiest competitors on the other major platforms -- Android and Windows Phone. In Google's camp we chose the superlative Samsung Galaxy S II models (focusing on the announced US variants) along with the Motorola Droid Bionic for its qHD and LTE chops.
Droid-Lie: Up until today, we had only seen a render of the backside of the DROID Bionic, after Amazon posted up a whole batch of accessories for it. Thanks to one of our fantastic readers though, we now have real pictures of what you can expect come early September when this device makes its way into Verizon stores.
