Engadget - Been waiting long enough for the Droid Bionic? Same here, as you can imagine. Although we're looking to September 8th as the official launch date of the LTE-equipped wunderphone, Verizon's teaser page just went live, reminding us of the phone's impending arrival.

DROID Bionic Jelly Bean Update (Android 4.1.2) Announced On Verizon Site, Rollout Starts April 15th

Android Police's David Ruddock writes, "Verizon has just announced the Jelly Bean update for the Motorola DROID Bionic, bringing Android 4.1.2 to a handset many thought would never make it past Gingerbread. Motorola has been on an update spree the last few months, and the decision to bump the Bionic to Android 4.1 was made official by Motorola back in October 2012. The version number for the Jelly Bean update is 98.72.22, and it will begin rolling out in phases on April 15th."

Hot Hardware: Droid Bionic by Motorola Review

Hot Hardware: With a price tag that's just a penny shy of $300, the Droid Bionic is definitely at the top end of Verizon Wireless' current lineup. Considering the similarly-equipped Droid RAZR will be available next month for the same price, we feel as if Verizon Wireless and Motorola are stealing some of their own thunder with the recent announcement of the thinner Droid RAZR. For this reason, we wouldn't be too surprised if the price for the Droid Bionic drops somewhat, relatively soon. Assuming Motorola and Verizon Wireless do something to keep the Droid Bionic competitive with other offerings, we feel the Droid Bionic is indeed a phone worthy of consideration for users who want a zippy Android experience with 4G connectivity.
