The Inquirer - "THE US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE) wants to take down web sites that use the .com and .net top level domains (TLD) regardless of whether their servers are based in the US."
They are 100% US domains. Since those are the domains the US market uses and created. But obviously no government should be able to manipulate DNS.
.com stands for community, international websites, .net its .network, it is also international, each country is given their own. canada has .ca, USA has .us (imageshack.us) thats how the internet was set up. the US just wants power
Yes, US wants to own everything and the real problem is they want to extradite foreign website owners for breaking US copyrights even if they have no link to America and servers are based elsewhere. More info here - http://www.guardian.co.uk/t...
Is this the part where I buy a .co instead of using .com? I doubt the US would go out of their way to shut down a more legal site just because they have the power to do so.
US Government are big bullies, I wouldn't be surprised if they do something like this.
The U.S aint happy about the free flow of information & think they can rule the world,,but hay!Nothing new there.
