The HRD ministry recently announced the availability of 10,000 Sakshat tablets to IIT Rajasthan this June and will deliver additional 90,000 units to other areas. All priced at Rs. 2,200 per device. (appx $50).
Why am I not surprised?
Not bad for this price :)
Sakshat... I don't know what it means in Hindi, but I can imagine what people will think it means in English.
The word "Sakshat" means "to witness" or "in real life/form". The word is normally used in the Hindi language in reference to God. E.g. a person, who has supposedly been visited by God would say that "Sakshat God has visited me". Meaning that god in real life/form has visited him. But it doesn't always have to be linked with the divine. I can actually find no reason why they would call a tablet that. Maybe a "gift of god" or maybe a "true form" of a tablet.
Nice Article. Good read
