Engadget - BlackBerry 7 OS is coming soon but, to take advantage of all those fancy features like NFC and the digital compass (ok, some of them aren't that fancy), devs are going to need some new APIs -- enter the BlackBerry 7 Java SDK.

New BlackBerry 7 device appears set to arrive as the BlackBerry 9720

CrackBerry: During the BlackBerry Q1 2014 conference call, BlackBerry CEO, Thorsten Heins let it be known a new BlackBerry 7 device would be released soon. Before that, there was plenty of rumors one was coming but that sealed the deal for it. At this point, there's no official branding for the device that we're aware of but there is plenty of references in recent builds of BlackBerry Desktop Manager that suggest it will be a 'Curve' series device. But with that being said, we've seen stuff change before so alas, wait and see how it gets branded.

BlackBerry Tag promises NFC sharing in BB7

SlashGear - Never fear, Blackberry Tag isn’t another fail-laced tablet or other device coming from RIM. Tag is a new tech that users of Blackberry smartphones will be able to use to trade and share data with other Blackberry users. Tag will be coming in BB7 and is the name of the NFC sharing tech RIM has been working on. It’s worth noting that Tag is subject to network certifications. That would mean a chance that Tag is on some networks and not others.
