I still prefer plasma I think...
... LCD often seems too 'sharp', while for gaming and movies plasma just seems more natural somehow...

..although maybe with the newer LCD's, they may have improved. I don't know...

im confused. why would you buy an lcd tv that doesnt have 3d nowadays.
snoop_dizzle  +   1194d ago
For one, not a lot of people find 3D to be a must have feature.

Secondly, because of 3dtv's entering the market, that means a reduction in price in traditional HDTV's. I would say it would be best to go for a year or two-old high end tv then, as you likely will find a good deal on one (though I would also suggest looking at plasma sets as well if you want a large tv). At the same time, 3DTV's will pretty much make up the whole market fairly soon. As it is, they are entering into the mid range level of tv's.

I don't want 3D...
... I don't care about it in the cinema, I don't care about it on my handheld, I don't care about it on my TV.

Why? Because in 99% of the cases the best they can come up with to 'use' 3D, is just hurling crap towards the viewer...(!)

Also, I don't think it adds anything to the experience, it's often a cheap way to hike up the price, and with TV's and at the cinema you need to wear special glasses, which for home-use are usually ridiculously expensive.

I'm confused
Why do you consider a pointless gimmick like 3D a "necessity", as the tone of your post presents itself?
VforVideogames  +   1193d ago
What?????????
no 3d tv's? WTF???????????
fatstarr  +   1187d ago
3D Tvs are just a trend and shouldnt be added into a top 10 category, and because their are tons of tvs that are better with out the 3D feature than tvs with the 3D feature

I won a 42 inch Sony Bravia LCD HD tv about a year ago... it doesn't have 3D but it's still awesome.
fatstarr  +   1187d ago
Anything that you win is better haha, you can say it over and over to anyone, somebody has a 52 inch tv vs you you still win for the sheer fact that you got it for free. everything tastes and feels better when its free.

Was this written by someone who works for LG's PR dept?

I was kind of surprised to not see a SHARP tv on that list. I have an Aquos that's a few years old and it still looks great even when compared to the newer tv's on display in stores. Personally I wouldn't even consider buying an LG tv because I've heard nothing but negative things about them. It's either SHARP or Sony for me.

Yeah my mate bought one of the new 60" LG LCD's and I think the picture quality is very ordinary, I have a 40" sony and 54" Panasonic. And also had a 32" sharp lcd and picture quality on all 3 absolutely smashed the LG.

This list is pretty fail too.

this is a great list but i already have my mind set on the small boarder samsung tv. i will get one once it starts catching on. that tv is so awesome and i like it more than everything on the list except the visio one.
