... LCD often seems too 'sharp', while for gaming and movies plasma just seems more natural somehow...
..although maybe with the newer LCD's, they may have improved. I don't know...
Secondly, because of 3dtv's entering the market, that means a reduction in price in traditional HDTV's. I would say it would be best to go for a year or two-old high end tv then, as you likely will find a good deal on one (though I would also suggest looking at plasma sets as well if you want a large tv). At the same time, 3DTV's will pretty much make up the whole market fairly soon. As it is, they are entering into the mid range level of tv's.
... I don't care about it in the cinema, I don't care about it on my handheld, I don't care about it on my TV.
Why? Because in 99% of the cases the best they can come up with to 'use' 3D, is just hurling crap towards the viewer...(!)
Also, I don't think it adds anything to the experience, it's often a cheap way to hike up the price, and with TV's and at the cinema you need to wear special glasses, which for home-use are usually ridiculously expensive.
Why do you consider a pointless gimmick like 3D a "necessity", as the tone of your post presents itself?
no 3d tv's? WTF???????????
This list is pretty fail too.
