Parents, need to throttle Timmy's Xbox while you work from home?

Understanding Internet slowdowns remains a mystery to many mainstream 'Net users. If YouTube starts buffering, is it because Little Timmy is wasting people on Xbox Live? Is it because the teenagers are pulling down video clips over WiFi using their cell phones? Is it simply because that 6Mbps plan you purchased is only providing 2Mbps?

Georgia Tech researchers will tomorrow launch a new tool called Kermit that allows people to see (and limit) the bandwidth being consumed by every device used in their home—and to find out if they're getting the Internet speeds that were advertised.

There is alot of devices and options to do this its nothing new but is a good idea. The new windows home server 2011 is also able to do this and works very well.
