The disaster in Japan will cause shortage in electronic products all over the world. Major electronic factories in Japan like Sony, Panasonic and Canon were affected by the earthquake and tsunami.

the prices for new stuff thats currently being made or about to release will probably jump but the ipad and other devices which are marketed around price points cant jump up like that over night.
apple will just have to take a loss.
