SONY VAIO S Series ultra portable Notebook is finally available for Pre-order in US, the laptop was announced last month. The big sales point of the S Series is the runtime: up to 15hrs if you pair the notebook with the optional $150 “slice” battery. it adds approximately a pound to the weight of the notebook but brings its potential battery life, when used at default settings, to 15 hours.
Cnet: Powerful, thin, and reasonably lightweight, the Sony Vaio S includes a quad-core CPU, Blu-ray, and a good package of preinstalled software.
Pocket-Lint: The updated Sony Vaio S series ushers new Intel hardware into a body that's constructed from premium materials giving you a slim and portable powerhouse.
The starting price sets it close to the asking price of the Sony Vaio T13 Ultrabook, but the S series offers a lot more potential for customisation and configuration. For starters there is a wide range of colour options and 15 and 13-inch screen sizes. We looked at a black 13-incher.
Pocket-Lint: Not content with enhancing its VAIO E Series array of laptops, Sony has now added to its S Series range too.
Consisting of a 13.3 and a 15.5-inch display models, both laptops feature an uber-svelte waistline which Sony claims makes them ideal for people who work on the move.
