So what he gets off free and that's it? No look at the conduct of said dumbass cop? "o I don't know when my radar was last calibrated" is total BS. He was probably just bored and looking for his power fix.

I am an attorney. I have practiced in California and Florida. In order for the officer to prove his case, most states have statutes that require certain calibrations to be performed on the radar gun, as well as proper training of the officer on the gun being used. An officer needs to show, in Court, that he has the proper Certifications and calibrations in the form of documentation. If the cop does not have those items at the time of the Court hearing, then the case will be dismissed. It is unlikely that the phone app had anything to do with the not guilty finding in this matter, as it is not reliable, authenticated evidence. This story is a non-story. Some kid thinks he got off because of the phone. He is mistaken. And so is this "story".
