State agency requests Facebook password for background check

A state agency that asked a job applicant for his Facebook password has suspended its policy while it reviews the practice.

Robert Collins began work in 2007 as a corrections officer at the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services' Patuxent Institution in Jessup, Md. He took a leave of absence in April 2010, and when he wanted to return to his old job, he said investigators began asking questions.
