This is the silly season for PR presents. Technology writers and product reviewers receive boxes in the mail, sometimes elaborately giftwrapped, from public relations people in the industry. Usually, what we find inside are fruit, chocolate, calendars with generic photographs and assorted pastries. So when we got a gift box from Nvidia, we naturally thought it was one of the usual holiday PR gimmicks.

Nvidia's GTX 570 shows up at Newegg.com

Newegg.com has finally started listing Nvidia's GTX 570 cards from various partners and it looks like that the price should be set at US $349.99. This is much lower than expected as the UK price tag was set at £299 (GBP).

Newegg.com currently lists three cards and two, PNY and Palit, are priced at US $349.99. The EVGA card is priced at US$359.99. This puts these cards in direct competition to the HD 5870, at least price-wise.
