Androidos: Dell UK just announced on its official Facebook account that it will start pushing Froyo update to Streak users before the end of November. The update will start from UK and will be later pushed to other regions.
Dell also mentioned that it will be an OTA (Over the Air) update. It how ever did not commit any fixed date for the Android 2.2 rollout.
So industry 'experts' think that smartphones with larger touchscreens aren't the future. We are all apparently happy with 3.5 inch phones and are shunning larger devices. I can think of about 10 million reasons why this isn't true. But there is a good point to come out of this -- when does a smartphone become a tablet?
If the phones just keep getting bigger we might as well all just carry around pads. I'm okay with current size of smart-phone screens, imo there's no need to keep making them bigger.
If they would utilize the device better we could see 5 inch screens on devices of the same size as now.
Owners of Creative ZiiO tablet have a good news, the 7-inch android Tablet will get Android 2.2 Froyo upgrade on this Friday. The upgrade will be available via support.creative.com or the ZiiO Space portal found on their tablets, beginning 25 March 2011. Currently ZiiO 7 inch tablet is running on Android 2.1 and this update should bring many improvement functionality for the tablet to satisfy the users.
Sprint has finally announce the Sprint ID for its flagship Smartphone Samsung Epic 4G and the Tablet Samsung Galaxy Tab along with OTA update of Froyo for Samsung Epic 4G. Beginning today, all owners of these devices will be able to download the update and all users of these device will have access to these software update by March 24.
