TechRadar: The eagerly-awaited LG Optimus One smartphone has arrived, bringing Android 2.2 and a handset that is pivotal to the company's mobile hopes.
Hot on the heels of the Windows Phone 7 toting Optimus 7, LG's Optimus One was named in the company's recent financial results as a handset that would help its mobile division bounce back after a recent dip.
The LG Optimus One sports a 600MHz processor and a 3.2 inch HVGA touchscreen, as well as a 1500mAH battery.
LG Optimus One is reportedly confirmed to get Android 2.3 Gingerbread, The device is one of the first smartphones to offer Android 2.2 Froyo and finally getting Android 2.3 Gingerbread. LG was even more confident at the end of 2010 about the device since they mentioned that it would be upgradeable to Android 2.3 Gingerbread some time down the road.
Do anyone think that Android 2.3 Gingerbread update could save LG Optimus One? LG phones sucks as always.
This phone has very poor marketing in Europe... there will be no success for this device here...
We have heard that LG sold 1 million of Optimus One smartphones in 40 days after the launch and this LG model become the most successful LG cellphone ever. After 25 days more the number reached 2 million units.
I never really took LG serious, I need to see more of these and maybe it will change my views, I think lg phone I think cheap boxy phone or bad touchscreen and some form of a long term contract.
Pocket-Lint: First it was the white HTC Desire, then the white Samsung Galaxy S, and now the white LG Optimus One has landed too, putting the boot in to Apple who is now almost 4 months late with the white iPhone 4, with a further long delay expected.
