Virtual farm games absorb real money, real lives

Last century's cash crops included tobacco, cotton, and sugar cane. Now we have magic cauliflower and super berries, too--and even though they can't be sold at market, some people still toil from dawn to dusk cultivating them.
People spend not just real time but also real money growing these crops in virtual farming games that combine the allure of both games and social networking in what is usually a cute and deceptively simple package. They can be addictive: many users come back at least once a day to micromanage their famrs and deal with other users' requests.

The security company Sunbelt warns of games like Farmville beeing used to collect email addresses and passwords from Facebook users.

By clicking on a link that is posted on the profile, users are guided to a site where they are invited to enter their email address and password to login.

Girl quits her job on dry erase board, emails entire office

The Chive writes: "We received the following photos last night from a person who works with this girl. Her name is Jenny (not confirmed) - we're working our contact for Jenny's last name. Yesterday morning, Jenny quit her job with a (flash)bang by emailing these photos to the entire office, about 20 employees we're told. Awesome doesn't begin to describe this office heroine."
