Students care about Facebook privacy more than the world thinks, and their use of privacy controls has skyrocketed recently, according to two researchers.
imo most users did care about privacy from the start but the upset came when facebook restructured the whole privacy management system, which basically offered an option opening up their profiles without much info. the suggested settings were way too open but most people just assumed it would do justice like the old privacy set up. i ended up having to go through almost all my set ups to reset it to the old state it was once in. however awareness has increased since and many know now what to do. it's a given.
