HTC Pays George Lucas For DROID Copyrights

NERDSociety: So there was something very interesting I noticed while watching the commercials for the new HTC DROID Incredible phone, Verizon’s new exclusive phone. At the end of the commercial at the bottom of the screen in not so visible lettering it says “DROID is a trademark of Lucasfilm Ltd.”

The "Droid" name is licensed to Verizon. You won't find "Droid" written on HTC's packaging (unless they've changed it since I bought mine).

Verizon picks and chooses which of their phones deserve the "Droid" name...
