Lloyds Bank bans Bitcoin purchases

The bank stops its credit card customers buying digital currencies amid fears its value will keep falling.

SunnyZ2262d ago

If they are banning that, they may as well ban people from taking money out at casinos...
Talk about over reaching, how dare a bank tell you what you can or can not do with your own money...

jukins2262d ago

well when you're the lender you have to take these things into account. I mean if people buy these currencies in its current unregulated market anything could happen value plummets people are less likely to pay that money back to a creditor. Its all about risk

SunnyZ2262d ago

LOL!
If banks cared about their customers they would not frivolously hand out credit cards, or loans to people who can nor afford to pay that shit back.
They WILL get their money if they have to extract it from your bones.
This has nothing to do with protecting their clients from debt, they THRIVE of debt.
This has everything to do with the slow increase for the hatred of online currency taking over banks.
Is it unstable at the moment, yes, of course, every new start-up is, but once it gains traction, the whole privatised banking system will be F'd in the A...

OffRoadKing2262d ago

The fact bitcoin was ever considered money in the first place is a joke.

SunnyZ2262d ago

Just like literally ALL currencies mate.
All faith based, you need to believe in it for it to be real...

General Shrooms2262d ago

Sure, but the bank can tell you what you can do using THEIR services.

SunnyZ2262d ago

And there in lies the problem with privatised banking.
THEIR services. Not YOURS.
THEY should be serving YOU, YOU tell THEM what to do, not them telling you what you can and can not do with your own property...

General Shrooms2262d ago

What? You said it yourself, "THEIR services. Not YOURS". If you don't like it then find another bank. This is how the free market works.
