The Verge: "I’ve sat back and witnessed the development of Windows 10 and appreciated the speed of new feature releases, but it seems there’s a price to pay for this new "Windows as a service" world."
And that's one of the main reasons why I am on Windows 8.1. Windows 10 is too intrusive, plus the anniversary update almost bricked my laptop.
I am considering reverting to Windows 8 myself.
I find it's very good for general use, the start menu is a bit wonky at first but good once you get used to it, but not so good for gaming. I had to install drivers online from the Microsoft Directories to use a xbox elite controller on my laptop.
It is almost as if M$ said, "Those whiny brats don't like Windows 8? We'll show them!"
Windows 8 sucked, 8.1 is far better
Maybe it's because of where I live but I've yet to see an ad.
ok so let me get this straight......so now MS is getting revenue from ads because they gave it away for free.
what the hell...sounds like windows 10 is a free app that has ads and you have to pay for it to get the "non-ads" version, however, even if you paid for it you still get ads. MS needs to seriously rethink this quick but then again, i dont think they give a damn what you think. they have such a great monopoly with respect to business apps, that windows wont disappear anytime soon even if people wanted to stop using it.
