GamersNexus: "For today, we’re revisiting the GTX 780 Ti 3GB card for an analysis of its performance in 2016, as pitted against the modern GTX 1080, 1070, 1060, 1050 Ti, and RX 480, 470, and others."
the 780 Ti is barely 3 years old and is already performing lower than 1050 Ti RX 470 and even scrapping in the gutter with the 460 nowadays?? that's $700 vs $140-$170 difference. so...now the 780 Ti is basically a low-end GPU.
talk about money going into the drain! I thought modern high-end GPU hold up better over time than this.
EDIT: why is this not on N4G instead?
I just spent 609 CAD (That's with tax) on a 1070, next year I guarantee you the 1160 or whatever will outperform it or be close for half the price. Hell 980 TI's were 800-900 CAD, I'm now outperforming it for 300 less a generation later. That's just the way of PC hardware and if I'm being honest, this level of gradual performance is far better than what was happening in the late 90's. Hardware one generation old that couldn't even compete with the new stuff, it wasn't a very good feeling.
