The Real Reason Apple Wants to Kill the Audio Jack

"Do you want to know what else it comes with," a Samsung exec joked at the Galaxy Note 7 announcement. "An audio jack. Just saying."

The remark was clearly a knock at rumors Apple may ditch the audio jack on future iPhones. Apple has not made any announcements, but it begs the question: Is there some method to this (largely unpopular) madness?

Real reason : Apple wants money, more money, .... more money than the government of the United States. More money than it can count probably..

they want to kill our batteries faster so that we'll buy proprietary phone charges, powerbanks, cases that charge our devices. They want to say its progressive and that we dont need them anymore, but if they keep putting these awful batteries in there its going to be a problem, ntm how many headphones/earbuds/head sets with BT they are going to sell. They should find a solution to the forthcoming problem rather than introducing the problem, forcing the consumer to buy into the new wave, then say that they are increasing battery life. smh one of the reasons im not a fan of the company.,

Slimmer phone. Duh.
Also, Progress. The audio jack is ancient tech. Time to move on.

World's slimmest phone ViVo X5Max has a thickness of only 5.08mm and it sports a 3.5mm headphone jack as well.

So you reckon the new iPhone will be less than 5mm in thickness?

Erik73572801d ago

Sorry I wouldn't want a phone that slim!

Inzo2801d ago

This stupid, why get rid of the audio jack just to go wireless? Surely you can have both.

Tzuno2801d ago

Because they want to be different any time they release something new while you pay for their overpriced shit.
