Nvidia’s latest attempt to absolutely dominate the mid-range GPU market kicks off in one week, on July 19th the graphics card manufacturer will launch the Geforce 1060. Benchmarks comparing it to AMD's new darling the RX 480 have emerged.
In a head-to-head benchmark, AMD's dual GPU for Apple defeats RTX 4080.
Forspoken has revealed some troublesome issues with older AMD graphics cards. Yet another Forspoken post. Love it or hate it, it's having an impact on PC gaming at least. But is it for the better?
Daily Video Game writes: "If you’re looking for a new graphics card for your desktop right now, the online Amazon has good news for you! They are currently offering up to 36% off on ASUS graphics cards!"
Which 480 is being used for these results and why are the DirectX12 results so close, literally only 10 frames apart? Without that information these numbers only mean a more expensive Nvidia card is better than a cheaper AMD card and not all that much better. So its back to that question of do you save the $50 and get a card that performance a little less than the Nvidia card or spend the the extra cash. If you are in the spend the extra cash mindset, I dont see why you arent just buying a 1070.
If these results are comparison against the 4gb version of the RX 480, then they just dont matter. Too much missing information here to get a real picture of what is the better card. I dont think people are seriously claiming that a 200 dollar AMD card is going to outperform a more expensive Pascal card from Nvidia. That isnt the discussion, otherwise we would all be getting 1080s.
