WordPress.com turns on HTTPS encryption for all websites

WordPress.com is adding HTTPS support for all of its blogs. If you have a custom domain or a blog under the wordpress.com domain name (like bestcrabrestaurantsinportland. wordpress.com), you’re good to go.

But if they are only now doing it for wordpress.com they will surely attempt this for the wordpress.org. They wo'nt do partiality.

@Extremetech: They will never and can't do that for WordPress.org as this is open source and they don't have any control over it. The websites on WordPress.org are hosted on a user's server so WordPress.org has nothing to do with those websites.

As long as it is not something everyone has to arbitrarily pay for - which was suggested some time back - that can't be anything but good news.
