Plane is a new social app from Tim Allison, who previously founded Cupple, the relationship app acquired by YC alumni Pair (which since re-branded to Couple and was sold to Life360).
NASA displayed its experimental electric plane, the Maxwell X-57, at its Armstrong Flight Reseach Center in Edwards, California on Friday.
Researchers have developed an avionics system which can take visual and infrared data to determine where the runway is and then autonomously land the plane.
This is really amazing! Still basic but looks like it might be much safer than actual pilots!
