You can get your hands on a pretty solid, stock Android device without forking over too much money thanks to the permanent price move.
Google unveiled a slew of devices at its October 4 event, and two of them are smartphones — the Pixel and Pixel XL. You can pre-order both devices right now (if they’re in stock) and they’ll be available on October 20.

A recent March security over-the-air update may have left fingerprint sensors on Google’s Nexus 5X and 6P a little finicky.
Haven't had any issues. I did boot into recovery and wiped the cache after the update.
The Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X only emerged back in September, so it's likely that we're many months off seeing 2016's Nexus phones, but we're already hearing whispers about who might be making them.
