The legalities of life in space are unlikely to trouble most astronauts, but what laws do govern the area beyond Earth's atmosphere? Legal correspondent Clive Coleman investigates the statutes that have their origins in the Cold War space race.
The supermassive black hole is 40 million times as massive as the sun and powers a quasar that existed 700 million years after the Big Bang.
The asteroid zoomed by Earth at a perfectly safe distance of around 1.8 million miles (2.9 kilometers).
Images show surprise changes to the spacecraft as it interacted with the atmosphere.
The more individual countries reach out into space the more such guidelines are going to be required unfortunately. It does make sense and is quite possibly one of the few areasa lot of countries can find common ground easily.
Ironic that it would be where there is no ground at all!
How are we going to enforce these rules on other countries though? Through the United Nations?
I think space lies under laws and rules that are more in a common sense based status. Most countries already follow them, naturally.
