FlyKly announced Smart Ped, a foldable motorized scooter, last week. While it will be generally available starting February of next year, Smart Ped units will be shipped to early backers on Kickstarter this December. The scooter is a kick-assisted powered vehicle, with a similar drive technology to FlyKly’s Smart Wheel, a motorization kit for traditional bicycles. Instead of being controlled by a button or accelerator, the Smart Ped’s motor provides power to augment ‘kicks’ by users, adding on to existing motion.
