In September, we revealed the Lenovo Phab Plus which took copying the iPhone 6 to the next level.
It appears Lenovo now has a sibling in that regard if the upcoming leaks of HTC One A9 from popular leakster @OnLeaks is anything to go by.
It's amazing when you stop for a moment and think about the technology packed inside smartphones these days. They've got PC power, TV quality screens and design which wouldn't look out of place in a modern art gallery.
If you missed HTC’s One A9 at the launch price of $399.99, head over to its online store right now. HTC is holding a storewide sale which knocks 20 percent off the current $499.99 price tag. This is good news for HTC fans after the company announced that the One A9’s US pricing of $399 was a "very limited-time promotional offer."
The surprisingly straightforward and bombast free livestream wasted little time in introducing HTC’s newest offensive to take on the smartphone market. Despite being named HTC One, the A9 departs from previous One series devices in a significant way. Firstly, and most obviously, the A9 features a completely new design aesthetic; new for HTC anyway. The new phone resembles Apple’s iPhone 6s to such a degree that one could easily mistake it for the middle member of a three-phone line-up. The new fingerprint scanner on the front does not help differentiate the phones.
Sounds good so far, so what’s the problem. Well the phone will sell for a not unreasonable $399 (R5340), but only if you live in the US. Across the pond, customers can expect to dish out $665 (R8900), a significantly more expensive price. Even worse, the Americans get a higher specced version with 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage, while everyone else will have to settle for 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage.
I don't know what's special about the iPhone 6 design. Somebody help
htc has fallen so far from grace. Anyone remember the htc EVO? It was the flagship at the time. The EVO lte was also amazing. Now this is the best they can come up with...
The iPhone wished it looked like this.
Simple answer: I assume most docking bays and third party devices that you attach to are made more for the Iphone. By designing the HTC phone to those Iphone design specifications the device taps into those third party cradles and such much easier without real modification. It's a good investment idea to make a compatible product that fits the leaders design. This way it's less of an issue if/when someone buys the cloned product because it fits like the real thing. This simple design bonus would make the purchase choice less conflicting if the ports and software application also matched up compatibility wise.
